Our program during the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2007, included:
- 354 volunteer tutors
- 481 learners
- 20,116 hours logged by volunteers
Literacy Volunteers of Rochester, Inc. (LVR)
- Teaches basic reading and writing English language skills to adults
- Provides service free to students
- Offers two main programs
- Provides service through volunteer tutors who receive more than twenty hours of training before they begin teaching
- Serves Monroe County, New York, where Rochester is located
- Is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization; your donation may be tax deductible depending on your tax circumstances
- Is an accredited affiliate member of ProLiteracy Worldwide
- Was formed in 1964 and incorporated in 1971
