Student Assessment Tools

At Literacy Volunteers of Rochester, we assess students on entry into our program and then once per year. The office contacts students at the appropriate time. Reassessment helps gauge progress, drive instruction, and helps LVR demonstrate the effectiveness of its program.

Assessment is done at the LVR office.

We use one of two assessment tools:

1. ESOL students take the BEST Plus assessment
   
2. Basic Literacy students and ESOL students who score above 540 on BEST Plus take the TABE assessment, the Tests of Adult Basic Education
