Solving Problems Playing Audio or Video ProgramsGetting Player SoftwareJust as you need a browser to view the web and a word processor to open a document, you also need player software in order to listen to audio programs and view videos. The following players work with both audio alone and audio and video. Follow one of the links below, download, and install the software.
Launch the External PlayerIf you already have a player, clicking the "play" option on the LVR web page should open the respective player and start the program. If the program still does not play, here are two options:
Viewing the program in an external player brings the advantage of resizing the screen; viewing in a web browser with media-player plug-in presents a fixed size screen. If your computer isn't launching the external player, you can copy the "download" link on LVR's video page and use that url to open the video in your media player. Viewing the ProgramThe main purpose of providing video (instead of audio only) is to permit you to see the examples. Therefore we created the web version for broadband connections because this provides better quality. Don't have a high-speed connection? Many libraries in the Monroe County system permit viewing a video if you bring your own headphones. Many also permit you to download the file to a USB flash drive, CD-ROM, or DVD ROM, provided you bring the appropriate medium.
