Spring Fundraising: Reading Rally

Each spring, Reading Rally increases the community's literacy awareness and raises funds for our organization.

Through local media, LVR attempts to educate the community about adult literacy, programs available through LVR, and our need for volunteers.

Reading Rally concludes with our Spring Raffle for Reading – and the annual learner/tutor Scrabble Party! With the support of corporate sponsors — Wegmans and Paychex — LVR learners and volunteers raise funds through the Raffle for Reading, which offers wonderful prizes. The winning raffle tickets are drawn at our annual Scrabble Party, a night for learners and tutors to enjoy some fun with words. The 2008 event was held on April 30 in the Cornell Cooperative Extension auditorium, which is adjacent to our office.
