LVR Staff

Prior to joining LVR in August 2007, Jennifer Eaton was a full-time graduate student at the State University of New York's Buffalo State College. She graduated with an MA in Adult Education.

Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from SUNY Geneseo.

For ten years she was a Business Account Manager for Cingular Wireless.

Jennifer volunteers as a Friend of the Gates Public Library.

Bob Mahar joined LVR in July 2002 as Executive Director. His previous positions include:

• Director, Ontario County (NY) Office for the Aging (seven years)
• Director of Rochester's Catholic Youth Organization (seven years)
• Coordinator of the Hispanic youth tutorial program at the Puerto Rican Youth Development and Resource Center (PRYD)
• Vista worker with Volunteers of America working on a literacy project, which included LVR

He holds a BA degree in Political Science from St. John Fisher College and has done some graduate work.

John Williams joined the LVR staff in August, 2007. A veteran attorney editor in the Rochester offices of West, a division of Thomson Reuters, John left the corporate arena to pursue a career as a development officer. John holds:

• An A.B. degree from Duke University,
• A J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, and
• A Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from Roberts Wesleyan College.

An active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Genesee Valley Chapter, John is also a member of the Board of Advisors of Rochester Arts and Lectures and the Board of Directors of Friends of Eastman Opera.

Mellissa Woodhams joined the LVR staff in 1999.

She served eight years in the U.S. Navy as a dental assistant.

In her spare time, she plays golf, which she took up about five years ago after actively participating in softball.
